Wildlife StoryTellers Comfort Orphans in Southern Africa

A Hug That Speaks: Bringing Hope to the Children of Bloemfontein

Give them something to hug and love that speaks to them in their own heart language from God’s Word. Give them a Wildlife STORY TELLER animal with the audio Bible inside. Many children are left without parents as a result of HIV / Aids and other reasons.  Many suffer abuse of various natures. These children need love and the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Providing comfort and God’s message of hope to children in an orphanage in Bloemfontein, South Africa. See the joy on the faces! The children were very happy to receive the donation from a couple from the USA.

WILDLIFE STORYTELLERS—different soft, furry critters—share audio Bible stories with children and adults around the world in their own native tongue. The stuffed tigers, elephants, bears and others can be loaded with recordings in over 5,000 languages and dialects. When you place these animals in the hands of children and adults, it is a tactile reminder of God’s love.

There is something universal about the way a child clings to a stuffed animal. It’s a source of safety, a silent friend, and a soft place to land. But for many children in Bloemfontein, South Africa, a hug is only the beginning of the healing they need.

Many of these little ones have been orphaned by the HIV/AIDS crisis or have survived unimaginable circumstances. They aren’t just hungry for food; they are hungry for hope.

More Than Just a Toy

Recently, a wonderful couple from the USA helped us deliver a very special gift to a local orphanage: Wildlife Storytellers.

At first glance, they look like your everyday soft, furry tigers, elephants, and bears. But these “critters” have a beautiful secret. Tucked inside is an audio Bible that speaks to the children in their own native “heart language”.

Why “Heart Language” Matters

While many of these children are multilingual, there is something deeply restorative about hearing the Good News of Jesus Christ in the language you were born speaking.

  • Global Reach: These animals can be loaded with Scripture in over 5,000 languages and dialects.
  • A Tactile Reminder: For a child who has felt abandoned, holding a physical reminder of God’s love while hearing His promises creates a powerful connection.
  • Continuous Comfort: Long after the visitors leave, the Storyteller remains, whispering words of peace, courage, and identity into the ears of a child.

Seeing the Joy Firsthand

The atmosphere in Bloemfontein was electric. To see the transition from hesitant curiosity to wide-beamed smiles was a reminder of why we do this. For these children, the Wildlife Storyteller isn’t just a donation—it’s a companion that tells them they are seen, they are known, and they are loved by their Creator.
